Call for Expressions of Interest for new Trustees for the Hunterian Collection Board

The Board of Trustees of the Hunterian Collection is seeking up to four new Trustees who are surgeons, dental surgeons, veterinary surgeons, pathologists or anatomists (human and/or comparative) to contribute, at a strategic level, to the care, promotion and development of the world class Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and its collections. Expressions of Interest, Maximum two pages of A4 and CV, to be sent to [email protected] by Friday 13 December 2024. Follow up meetings to take place in January 2025 for formal appointments in February 2025.

Trustee profile

The Board of Trustees of the Hunterian Collection is seeking up to four new Board Members with particular skills, knowledge and experience. Applicants must be:

  • A qualified surgeon, dental surgeon, veterinary surgeon, pathologist or anatomist (human and/or comparative).
  • Have a good knowledge of RCS England Museum Collections, especially the Hunter collection, through personal research or as a member of the RCS England’s Library Museums and Archives Committee
  • A commitment to, and belief in the importance of, the public promotion of the history of surgery and its related arts and sciences

The Board of Trustees wishes to reflect the diversity within the UK population and applications are particularly welcome from women, people from Black, Asian and Ethnic minority backgrounds and people with disabilities.

Time commitment: Four meetings per year

Unpaid but reasonable expenses will be covered
