Fragile Creatures: Live at the Hunterian Museum

An unmissable musical journey through history. Fragile Creatures spotlights the systemic mistreatment of women in the name of medicine.

16th April 2026
19:00–20:30

£16.50

Attendees are invited to visit the Hunterian Museum from 5.30-6:45pm before the performance starts

Across its 11 songs, Fragile Creatures invites audiences to witness key moments of strength, resilience, and rebelliousness of women through the ages.

Featuring gripping true stories — from the trailblazing Edinburgh Seven, the first women formally admitted to a UK university and the first to study medicine in Britain, to the bizarre ancient Greek belief that a person’s womb could become “angry” and wander through their body if they did not bear children, causing illness and distress.

This powerful song cycle exposes the persistent gender health gap and honours the defiant, unbreakable spirit of women across the centuries.
