Surgical Skills Taster Workshop for Home Learners

Discover the Hunterian Museum and learn basic surgical skills. Offered to home learners and their parent/carer.

The Hunterian Museum's Surgical skills taster workshop for home learners and parents/carers provides a friendly and inclusive environment for families to explore the Museum. Suitable for 13+ only.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Children under the age of 13 will not be admitted in the room.

The workshop starts at 10.30am and runs until 12.30pm. It takes place in a dedicated room on the first floor and is facilitated by a retired surgeon/GP. Late comers may not be admitted.

It includes:

  • Gloving and gowning up
  • Surgical knot tying demonstration and practice
  • Practicing basic suturing skills (use of needles and surgical instruments)
  • Asking questions to a retired or consultant surgeon/GP

Maximum 1 ticket per family. Ticket price is £20 or £30 per family. £20 tickets includes 1 child and 1 adult. £30 tickets includes 2 children and 1 adult. This includes material for all participants.
