Long, narrow museum gallery, photographed from one end. Both walls are lined with glass cases filled with specimens in glass jars. The gallery in dimly lit with light highlighting the specimens. Three individuals are spaced through the gallery, looking at specimens and examining a touch screen display.

The Long Gallery – John Hunter’s Collection

The majority of John Hunter's collection - his life's work - is displayed in this gallery. Made from human, animal and plant tissue, they show how he understood the natural world.
Museum display of potted specimens. Divided into three sections, each section has three selves are slightly different heights creating a staggered effects. There are also specimens on the base of the case. At the front of each shelf there are square labels - most are silver/grey but a few are pink.
