SEND programme

The Hunterian Museum’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities(SEND) programme offers an inclusive and engaging experience for visitors with special educational needs and disabilities.

It includes tailored school SEND workshops for pupils aged 14+, designed to support learning through hands‑on exploration and sensory-friendly approaches.

During school holidays, the museum also runs SEND family activities, giving families opportunities to explore the collections together in a calm, supportive environment. To help visitors feel comfortable and confident during their visit, the museum provides a range of accessible resources, including a visual story and sensory backpack filled with tools to enhance the museum experience.
